Things To Do

Golf

-

There are 5 public golf courses on Kiawah Island, including the Ocean Course, which hosted the 2021 PGA Championship. Kiawah Resort guests receive a discount. We recommend booking tee times in advance!

Biking

-

Kiawah is an amazing place to bike, either on the designated bike paths that run throughout the island or directly on the beach. If you are staying at the Sanctuary, bikes will be made available to you through the hotel. If you are renting a home or villa rental bikes can be delivered to your location from the hotel (kiawahresort.com/recreation/bike-rentals/), Island Bike and Surf Shop (islandbikeandsurf.com), or Seacoast Sports (seacoastsports.com).

Restaurants

-

There a number of restaurants on Kiawah, our favorites are the Ryder Cup Bar at the Ocean Course (has the best ocean view!) and Jasmine Porch at The Sanctuary. Additionally, there are a number of great options at Freshfields Village. Enjoy dinner at Forty Eight Wine Bar + Kitchen or grab a sandwich and a frose at The Coop. For grab + go food and groceries check on The Nest Cafe and Market.

Tennis + Pickleball

-

Everyone is welcome to reserve courts at the Roy Barth Tennis Center! They also host clinics and lessons.

Beach

-

For those staying in villas or houses use this link to arrange for chairs and umbrellas to be delivered to a boardwalk of your choosing.

Shopping

-

Spend the afternoon strolling the shops at Freshfields Village, located at the entrance of the Island. This is also where the supermarket is located.

Kayak + SUP

-

Explore the island on kayak or paddle board (don't worry there aren't any alligators in the marsh!). Rentals can be set up via the resort or Tidal Trails.

Visit Charleston

-

Downtown Charleston is a ~50 minute drive from Kiawah. Explore the shops on King street or walk along the water in the Battery. Some of our favorite restaurants are Leon's, 167 Raw, Butcher & Bee, Husk, and Basic Kitchen.
